Dear Family & Friends,

Atlanta is a very special place to live and work. Here one can find a lot of diversity and many world renowned historically black colleges and other minority serving institutions. These institutions have been instrumental in making Atlanta, first, "the city too busy to hate," then, the Olympic City, and now an international cultural center. At AGL Resources, we are very fortunate to have a strong and diverse community of employees, as well as diversity in our charitable endeavors.

That's why this year, I am proud to personally endorse and support a UNCF-United Negro College Fund campaign within our network to augment our AGL Resources-UNCF Energy Scholars Program. By choosing to give to UNCF, you will allow deserving students to attend a range of exceptional institutions across the country, including the 39 private historically black colleges and universities directly supported by UNCF. The AGL scholarship program at UNCF aims to increase the participation rates of students of color in technology, engineering, math, finance and business majors. In addition, our company recruits heavily from the institutions located in our service territories and attended by these students.

Your participation is vital to the future of these students and institutions throughout the nation. UNCF has made the dream of attending college a reality for thousands of deserving youth throughout their 66 year history. All of this was made possible by the concern and generosity of people like you.

I recognize charitable giving is a personal decision. You'll decide for yourself whether you want to take part in this campaign. I want to encourage you to take the time to understand and learn about UNCF. It is only then that an informed charitable decision can be made.

I do want to briefly explain why we think UNCF is one of the best ways for you to help our community:

• UNCF supports over 60,000 students a year at over 900 institutions
• UNCF has over 400 scholarship programs it administers
• UNCF is efficient: 91¢ of every dollar collected goes directly to support its students
