Dear Colleagues:

The School District of Palm Beach County is proud to be collaborating with the UNCF-United Negro College Fund this year on a workplace employee giving campaign. As part of February’s Black History Month, the District is launching a campaign in our workplace. By choosing to give to UNCF, deserving seniors of the School District Palm Beach County of any racial or ethnic background will have the opportunity to receive scholarships in the Fall of 2013 that will allow them to attend colleges and universities across the country.

Your participation is vital to the future of these students. UNCF has made the dream of attending college a reality for thousands of deserving youth throughout their 66 year history. All of this was made possible by the concern and generosity of people like you.

I recognize charitable giving is a personal decision. You will decide for yourself whether you want to take part in this campaign. My expectation is that we will all take the time to understand and learn about UNCF. It is only then that we can truly make an informed charitable decision.

I do want to briefly explain why I think UNCF is a great way for you to help our community:
  • UNCF will designate funds raised by the School District of Palm Beach County for School District of Palm Beach County seniors
  • UNCF is efficient: 91¢ of every dollar collected go directly to support its students
Employees may give a one-time donation or, choose to make a monthly gift. Donations will not be collected at the school sites. The enrollment period is Feb. 1, 2013 through March 22, 2013. If you're interested in donating through a payroll deduction, please fill out the form linked to here.

To make a donation by check, click here to download a pledge form.

There is so much more to learn. I challenge you to continue your education about UNCF; this will help you with your own personal decision regarding your contribution. Please contact District Campaign Coordinator Heather Knust at (561) 434-8096 or UNCF Representative Roxanna Blissett at (954) 527-3315 for any additional information.

Sincerely,

E. Wayne Gent
Superintendent

Employees that contribute a minimum of $1 per pay period or $25 lump sum will be entered in a drawing to win a Dell Latitude 10 Tablet at the end of the campaign.
