Northwest African American Museum

The Northwest African American Museum (NAAM) is located in the historic Colman School (built 1909) in Seattle’s historically black neighborhood, the Central District. Since its opening in 2008, NAAM has spread knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the histories, arts and cultures of people of African descent for the enrichment of all. NAAM is proud to be the venue for the 2015 UNCF Black College Fair and will offer free admission to all students who register for the fair. Currently at NAAM

Free parking is available on site.

NAAM is located on the corner of 23rd Avenue and S. Massachusetts Street, just south of downtown Seattle.

Traveling North: I-5 North, merge onto I-90 E via EXIT 164A toward SPOKANE. Take EXIT 3, the RAINIER AVE S exit, turn right onto Rainier Avenue. Turn left (east) on S. Massachusetts Street, the Museum is three blocks up on the left.

Traveling South: I-5 South, merge onto I-90 E via EXIT 164 toward BELLEVUE/SPOKANE. Take EXIT 3, the RAINIER AVE S exit, turn right onto Rainier Avenue. Turn left (east) on S. Massachusetts Street, the Museum is three blocks up on the left.

Traveling West: I-90 West, Take EXIT 3A, the RAINIER AVE. S exit. Turn slight right onto Rainier Avenue. Turn left (east) on S. Massachusetts Street, the Museum is three blocks up on the left.
