$150,000.00 Goal

Thank you for your interest in the UNCF New York 3rd Annual Walk/Run for Education to be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Southpoint Park - Roosevelt Island, New York. This family-friendly 5K (3.1 miles) is on a USATF certified and timed course for those who wish to track their time. This fundraising event was formed to raise funds for UNCF students in the form of scholarships and services. UNCF students attend more than 1,100 colleges and universities. UNCF also supports 37 historically black colleges and universities.

We welcome and encourage corporate teams, fraternities, sororities, groups, churches, organizations, HBCU Alumni and individuals who believe that "A mind is a terrible thing to waste"® and understand the importance of "giving back." We have a goal of raising $150,000.00. It is critical that each participant considers recruiting family, friends and colleagues to sponsor your walk or run. No amount is too small! Setting and achieving your personal goal will help us reach the $150,000.00 mark!

If you haven't visited Roosevelt Island before, you're in for a treat. Fast, Flat and with one of a kind views of Manhattan, Queens and beyond. You are going to have a blast! Come out and have fun with us. There will be activities for everyone: warm-up exercises, mini health fair, entertainment for children to enjoy and, of course, the awards for the runners and participating groups.
