Black History Month 2025

United Negro College Fund (UNCF) has been a pioneering force in providing financial support to underserved students for over 80 years. Our rich history spans from the era of educational Segregation and Jim Crow laws through the Civil Rights movement to the Present.

Education has provided one of the main paths forward for Black Americans. UNCF is the lifeblood for more than 50,000 deserving students each year — enabling them to reach prosperity and fueling better futures for us all.

UNCF celebrated its 80th anniversary last year — established well ahead of the civil rights changes of the 1960s and 1970s, far before the Voting Rights Act and prior to the desegregation of schools. As we continue to celebrate this UNCF anniversary, we invite you an opportunity to make history by extending our legacy, driving progress and empowering our youth to succeed.
